The Yellow-crested Cockatoo also known as the lesser Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, is a white medium-sized cockatoo with a yellow or orange crest. This cockatoo has sadly suffered an extremely rapid population decline, owing to unsustainable trapping for the cagebird trade. This has been exacerbated by ongoing forest loss. It is assessed as critically endangered.
